Accidental 911 Calls
Pocket dialing, purse dialing, vehicle cupholders, and kids playing with phones all can cause big problems for 911 centers. Time and resources are wasted on accidental 911 calls and hang-ups. If you accidentally call 911, please do not hang up. Stay on the line so that the Dispatcher can make sure there is not an emergency. We also like to verify your location, name, and phone number to be sure that our equipment is working properly.

Know your location
When you call 911, the most important piece of information we need is your location. Awareness of your surroundings is key- addresses, street names, cross streets, mile markers on the highway, and landmarks can help to tell us where you, and your emergency, is located so that we can get assistance to you as soon as possible.
Emergency Profile
911 relies on your ability to clearly articulate critical information such as pre-existing health information in an emergency. Together with public safety and organizations certified as RapidSOS Ready, RapidSOS has created the world’s first emergency response data platform that securely links life-saving data from connected devices or profiles to 911 and first responders in an emergency.
Now individuals can be RapidSOS Ready by creating an Emergency Health Profile, providing first responders with the critical information they need to care for you in a medical emergency. During these uncertain times, taking this important step can help provide the peace of mind of knowing that in an emergency you and your loved ones have the most effective response possible.
