Road Operator

Sheridan County is seeking an Equipment Operator to perform a variety of semi-skilled and skilled functions associated with operation of heavy equipment and power tools used to safely and effectively maintain, repair, and construct the roads and bridges within the County. This is a full-time position with the normal working hours between 7:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. (varies based on season), Monday through Friday. The initial pay rate will depend on experience. Minimum qualifications are a high school diploma or equivalent and two years of experience in road/bridge maintenance, driving or operating large trucks and heavy equipment on construction or maintenance projects or related experience. Must have an “Interstate Non-Excepted” Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and a valid and up-to-date Medical Examiner’s Certificate or have the ability to obtain them within 3 months of hire date. Cemetery Groundskeeper

Applications are being accepted for a grounds-keeper position for Plentywood Memorial Cemetery to perform general grounds tending, maintenance, upkeep and repair. Work varies; individual judgment within established standards and procedures is required. This is a seasonal, part-time position with varying work hours. The initial pay rate will depend on experience and will be increased after a probationary period. Minimum qualifications are: any combination of training and experience equivalent to completion of eighth grade and two years work experience; some experience in mechanic and minor building/grounds maintenance helpful. Intermittent Dispatcher

Dispatcher

Sheridan County is seeking a Dispatcher. Dispatchers receive emergency and nonemergency requests for response via telephone, 9-1-1 phones, walk-ins, and radio. The position determines call priority, dispatches law enforcement, other emergency units, and maintains close contact with field units to monitor response progress and any needed support requirements. This is a full-time position with varying working . The starting salary could vary depending on qualifications and includes a pay differential for night shifts. Minimum qualifications are any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school. All applicants are subject to a background check.
