Road Operator

Sheridan County is seeking two Equipment Operators to perform a variety of semi-skilled and skilled functions associated with operation of heavy equipment and power tools used to safely and effectively maintain, repair, and construct the roads and bridges within the County. This is a full-time position with the normal working hours between 7:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. (varies based on season), Monday through Friday. The initial pay rate will depend on experience. Minimum qualifications are a high school diploma or equivalent and two years of experience in road/bridge maintenance, driving or operating large trucks and heavy equipment on construction or maintenance projects or related experience. Must have an “Interstate Non-Excepted” Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and a valid and up-to-date Medical Examiner’s Certificate or have the ability to obtain them within 3 months of hire date. ​Extension Administrative Assistant

​Sheridan County is seeking an Extension Service Administrative Assistant/Fair Board Secretary/Solid Waste Board Secretary to perform a variety of skilled office functions under the supervision of the Extension Agent, Sheridan County Fair Board, and Sheridan County Solid Waste Board.  This will be a full-time 32-40 hour per week position with working hours between 8:00am and 5:00pm, Monday through Friday.  Hours may be flexible.  The initial pay rate will depend on experience and will be increased after a one-year probationary period.  Minimum qualifications are education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma or GED equivalent with specialized course work in general office practices such as typing and filing.  Coursework in secretarial skills and knowledge in the agricultural field is preferred.  Applications and Job Descriptions are available at the Sheridan County Clerk & Recorder's Office.  Applications must be returned to the Sheridan County Commissioner’s Office or the Sheridan County Clerk & Recorder’s Office.  This position will remain open until filled.
